The Big Sur International Marathon returned for its 38th annual presentation on April 27, 2025, welcoming over 9,000 runners from 41 countries and all 50 states + Washington D.C. Participants took on one of six races — 5K, 12K, 11-Miler, 21-Miler, Marathon Relay, or the capstone event, the Marathon, which returned this year to its traditional point-to-point course.

The 46th Annual Kaiser Permanente Napa Valley Marathon and Half Marathon, which took place on Sunday, March 2nd, saw its largest field to date, welcoming 6,000+ runners to enjoy the beauty of Napa Valley’s Silverado Trail. Race day included a full marathon, half marathon, and the Kiwanis Club of Greater Napa 5K.

The Big Sur International Marathon welcomes long-time partner HOKA as its new presenting sponsor for the 38th annual event set to take place on April 27, 2025. This 5-year partnership builds upon HOKA’s longstanding relationship with the marathon and expands on their shared commitment to delivering a world-class experience for runners.

The 19th Annual Monterey Bay Half Marathon, which took place on Sunday, November 10th, welcomed its largest field of participants in seven years to enjoy the dramatic beauty of the central coast. Race weekend included a two-day expo in downtown Monterey, the Pacific Grove Lighthouse 5K and By-the-Bay 3K on Saturday, and the half marathon as the weekend’s focal point on Sunday morning.

The 38th Annual Big Sur International Marathon, set to take place on Sunday, April 27th, has officially SOLD OUT its five race distances – The Marathon (including entries to its VIP Program Presented by HOKA) & Marathon Relay, 21-Miler, 11-Miler, 12K, & 5K.

Blistering Pace Race Management President Michelle La Sala will be recognized with the 2024 Emerging Industry Leader Award by the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security. The award is given to a professional who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in addressing safety and security issues. The awards presentation will take place at the National Sports Safety and Security Conference & Exhibition July 9-11 in Phoenix, AZ.

The Big Sur International Marathon, a bucket list race for runners worldwide, once again converged along Highway 1 from Big Sur Station to Rio Road in Carmel for another unforgettable event on Sunday, April 30th. Runners faced windy and overcast conditions as they headed out of the redwoods, north over Hurricane Point, and across the iconic Bixby Bridge before coming into the finish in Carmel.
