San Francisco Half Marathon, 10K & 5K Delivers Sold-Out Race and Strong Community Impact

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The San Francisco Half Marathon, 10K & 5K presented by Sutter Health returned to Golden Gate Park on Sunday, February 1, 2026, for a record-breaking race weekend. For the first time in recent event history, the race sold out, welcoming more than 9,500 runners (a 30% increase year over year) to compete in the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon.

Hosted annually for 40+ years by the Pamakid Runners and produced by Blistering Pace Race Management, the San Francisco Half Marathon, 10K & 5K features a fast, flat, net-downhill course that attracts runners of all abilities. The race starts in Golden Gate Park, moves through the Panhandle, along Ocean Beach, and finishes near the park’s historic windmills. With long stretches of uninterrupted road and minimal elevation change, the course is well suited for both first-time racers and experienced athletes. This year, runners traveled from 46 states and Washington, D.C. to participate.

Nolan Hosbein, a 22-year-old from Petaluma, CA secured victory in the men’s half marathon with a time of 1:07:15, and Lucy Nodler a 24-year-old from San Francisco earned the women’s half marathon top spot with an impressive time of 1:14:47.

The 2026 race also marked the first year of a multi-year presenting sponsorship with Sutter Health, who served as the official medical team and health partner for the event. Sutter Health led comprehensive on course medical support and activated wellness-focused initiatives throughout race weekend.

“The San Francisco Half Marathon is a very special race and a stronghold in the Bay Area running community.” said Michelle La Sala, Race Director and President of Blistering Pace Race Management. “Runners continue to show up for this race, both returners and newcomers alike, this year to a complete sell out tune. Running through Golden Gate Park and along the Pacific Ocean with proceeds benefitting the local community, everybody wants to be a part of it.”

In addition to delivering a premier race experience, the San Francisco Half Marathon continues to make a meaningful local impact. Since the event’s inception in 1984, Pamakid Runners have partnered with local nonprofit organizations that support healthy communities and families. Over the past fifteen years, Pamakid Runners has donated more than $1 million back to the Bay Area community. This year’s race beneficiaries included Girls on the Run Bay Area, Running for a Better Oakland, and Support for Families of Children with Disabilities.

"For more than four decades, Pamakid Runners have proudly hosted the San Francisco Half Marathon, uniting individuals who share a love of running, health, wellness, and giving back,” said Jerry Flanagan President of Pamakid Runners. “Founded and sustained by our small, local running club, the event continues to embody a commitment to inclusivity, community, and creating a race experience that truly reflects the heart and spirit of our running community."
